Astier de Villatte x John Derian Small Ring Dish

When it comes to our Small Ring Dish, the answer is “yes!” This delicate piece is a collaboration between two of our favorite makers — the legendary ceramicist Astier de Villatte and celebrated designer John Derian. The process begins in Astier’s historic Paris workshop, where this dish is handcrafted the old-fashioned way by shaping black terracotta clay from the Paris Basin into handcarved plaster molds — a slow-paced, traditional process that gives each piece its own unique character. Once coated in the brand’s signature milky white glaze, this miniature bowl is finished with a vintage illustration of a single diamond ring, sourced from Derian’s expansive collection of antique images. Great as a clever catchall for jewelry on the nightstand or dressing table, our Small Ring Dish would also make the perfect engagement gift for the bride-to-be.
