Faux Leather Chess Set

A chess set in a rigid case covered in faux leather, soft neutral, the board set into the lid and base and the pieces in wood.

A wooden box under the covering, paperboard structure inside, each piece seated so the set travels without shifting. Eleven inches square, just over two deep. Closed it reads as an object rather than a game box.

For the couple who plays after dinner. The milestone birthday. The friend whose home is all good objects and no clutter.

Faux leather over a wooden box. Not animal leather.
