Marble Chess Set, White Marble & Green Onyx

A marble chess set, hand-carved. White marble and green onyx playing pieces. The board is two solid marble blocks fitted together with a hidden storage compartment for the pieces.

The white marble reads cream and warm against the deep green onyx. Both stones are real, hand-cut, slightly variable from set to set. The board has weight in the hand. The pieces have weight in the hand. The kind of set that sits on the shelf as sculpture between games.

For the friend who learned chess from a grandfather. The couple whose first apartment needs one beautiful object. The milestone gift for the person who has the watch and the pen already.
