Marble Chess Set with Storage Case, Black & White

The serious one. Hand-carved in black and white marble, the black closer to polished slate than paint, with a weighted board and a fitted storage case cut from the same stone.

Between games it anchors the room, an object made to last decades rather than seasons. In two sizes. For the milestone wedding gift, the friend who plays chess against actual people, or the one who has reached the age of buying things that outlive trends.

Natural stone. Veining and color vary from the piece shown.
