Memento Mori, from the Latin ‘Remember you will die’, is less a doom-laden prophecy, but instead an inducement to live every day to the full, as if it might be your last.

Made from faceted crystalline glass with a metallic copper coating at the base, this NUDE Memento Mori sculpture is part of a wider range of skull-shaped ornaments by the Istanbul-based designer, Ali Bakova. The highly original design is at once functional and artistic, embodying the timeless mantra of the beautiful transience of human life.
