Palio Round Serving Platter, The Panther

This magnificent serving platter is a celebration of the Palio—a wild and intoxicating horse race that takes place in the main piazza of Siena, Italy. Each piece displays a symbol that correlates to one of the teams, based on the different districts in the city.

Pantera (The Panther): Traditionally Pantera residents were grocers, chemists and steamers. Pantera’s allies are Chiocciola, Civetta, Giraffa and Istrice. Its rival is Aquila. Their motto is: “La mia energia abbatte ogni ostacolo” – “My energy pulls down every obstacle”
